come across at evoDerma. If you have any further inquiries,

| Yes. Intense
Pulsed Light (IPL) technology is clinically proven as
an effective long-term hair removal method. With the added
benefit of Advanced Multi Pulse IPL technology, the light
pulses target body hairs more thoroughly.
is designed to remove unwanted body hair, and can
be used on legs, bikini line, underarms, arms and hands,
chest, back, shoulders, feet. It should not be used above
the neckline or on the face.
| The length
of a treatment session depends on the size of the area(s)
you are treating and the selected intensity level. For
most users, treating the lower leg area can take about
20-25 minutes while treating both underarms takes around
is our top priority, and ELITE has been tested
according to the highest safety standards for a home-based
device. IPL technology has been approved for more than
fifteen years, and its use is widespread in both professional
settings and at home. Despite our safety measures, ELITE
is a powerful device and must be used carefully according
to the guidelines listed in the User Manual.
| When the
device is used properly, you may feel warmth and tingling
when a light pulse is emitted, but discomfort is minimal
compared to other hair removal methods like waxing. Users
with darker and thicker hair may feel more discomfort
during treatment, which should subside shortly. Some redness
immediately following a treatment is normal, but should
disappear within 1-2 days. If you feel excessive discomfort
during treatment, or have physical symptoms or side effects
that do not subside within 1-2 days, stop using ELITE
and consult a doctor. ELITE has 5 intensity level
settings, allowing you to adjust the treatment according
to your sensitivity.
| Your treatment
sessions should be spaced two weeks apart for the first
4 to 5 sessions. After the fourth session, treatments
should be done every four weeks if any hairs grow back,
and continued until the desired results are achieved.
We do not recommend using ELITE more frequently
than every two weeks.
| Yes. ELITE
is designed for both men and women. However, men tend
to have thicker hair, which may require more hair removal
sessions than women to achieve the desired results.
| All light-based
hair removal devices achieve better results on darker
shades of hair since they contain more melanin (a pigment
that absorbs light energy). Although some users have achieved
results with white, grey, red or blond hair, these hair
colors do not usually respond to IPL treatments, which
is why we do not recommend ELITE for users with
| Do not
use ELITE if you have a naturally dark skin tone.
IPL technology uses the dark pigment found in hair to
disable its growth. Melanin also determines the hue of
a person’s skin. The more melanin in the skin, the darker
the skin tone and the greater the risk of developing burns,
blisters and skin color changes (hyper- or hypo-pigmentation).
Do not try to use ELITE if you believe your skin
tone may be unsuitable. Please contact the EvoDerma Customer
Care Department instead.
| Avoid sun
exposure for at least four weeks before every treatment
with ELITE. A strong sunscreen (SPF 50 or higher)
as well as covering the treatment area with clothing will
help to prevent sun exposure. Before every treatment,
the area should also be shaved, clean, dry and free of
perfumes, deodorant or powders.
can continue to shave when using ELITE, and the
desired treatment area(s) must be shaved prior to each
session, but other hair removal methods do not work with
IPL technology. Waxing and epilators (as well as other
techniques) remove the root of the hair, which is normally
disabled by IPL’s light energy. If the root is not properly
disabled, hair reduction will not last.
| The results
obtained from any light-based hair removal device are
not immediate, and most users first see results after
3-4 sessions. In the beginning, it might even look like
hair is growing back after a treatment session. In reality,
many of these hairs are simply in the process of being
ejected by the body and will fall out after two weeks.
Due to different stages of hair growth, not all hair will
be affected at the same time when using ELITE.
This is why multiple sessions are needed in order to achieve
the two weeks following a treatment, it will appear as
though hair is still growing. This apparent re-growth
is part of a process called “ejection” that is characterized
by a shedding of the hair, which will either fall out
or slide out when pulled. We do not recommend pulling
the hair out at this stage; you should let the hair fall
out naturally. It is also possible that some hairs were
missed or that they were not in the appropriate stage
of growth when treated. These hairs will be treated in
subsequent sessions, which is why multiple treatments
are necessary in order to achieve optimal results.
| There is
a possibility that some hairs will grow back lighter and
finer after a treatment session with ELITE. Typically,
these hairs are noticeably finer and additional treatments
will eventually remove them.
| Never use
ELITE on tanned skin or after sun exposure! Tanned
skin or skin that has recently been exposed to the sun
contains high levels of the pigment melanin. This is the
case for all skin types and complexions, including those
that do not seem to tan quickly. A higher presence of
melanin increases the risks for unwanted side effects
such as burns, blisters and skin color changes (hypo-
and hyper-pigmentation), and will make treatment uncomfortable.
| You should
wait at least four weeks after unprotected sun exposure
before using the device. If you have any questions regarding
sun exposure, please contact your doctor or the evoDerma
Customer Care Department.
| Any areas
that have been treated by ELITE should be cleaned
and then hydrated with a gentle moisturizing lotion. Avoid
sun exposure for at least two weeks after treatment. Cover
the treated area(s) with clothing and/or strong sunscreen
(SPF 50 or higher) as extra protection.
comes with a lamp cartridge that includes between 10,000
to 50,000 flashes depending on the selected intensity
level. At the end of the lamp’s lifetime, a replacement
lamp cartridge will need to be purchased. This is indicated
by the red glow of the Head LED on the handheld unit.
